Historic Wilmington will host SER starting in 2019

Wilmington, NC will be the host for the 2019 USA  SE Regional Championships. The event, which has been in Atlanta, GA for the past eleven years, has seen continued growth in recent years.

The event's move to North Carolina will mark the first time in nearly twenty years that the event has been in the Tar Heel State, and its first time ever in historic Wilmington.

Wilmington boasts an exciting new waterfront convention center, which will be the venue for next year's championships. Surrounding the Convention center are numerous new hotels and restaurants, as well as the historic downtown Wilmington waterfront, which is home to tons of great shopping, dining, and nightlife. Across the river is the newly refurbished USS North Carolina Battleship, which will serve as a perfect backdrop for Memorial Day weekend.

Wilmington is also only a short drive to several North Carolina Beaches, including Wrightsville, Carolina Beach, and Kure Beach. They also boast an international airport (ILM), and are only one hour from Myrtle Beach (MYR) and about two hours from Raleigh (RDU) .

North Carolina is also home to numerous top collegiate wrestling programs, including NC State, UNC-Chapel Hill, Campbell, Duke, Gardner-Webb, Appalachian State, UNC-Pembroke, Greensboro College, Davdison, Belmont Abbey, Queens University, and St. Andrews.
