For the first time in its history, Team NC wrestling has surpassed the five thousand member mark, with three months of the membership year still to go.

Athlete memberships have increased 3% over last year's previous record, while wrestling leader memberships have shattered last season's record by over 23%. Much of this growth is due to the rapid growth of women's wrestling in North Carolina, which has seen a 20% increase over last years record totals.

These record numbers reflect the continued growth of wrestling across North Carolina. A record 124 sanctioned USA clubs are now in operation across the state, including several top level Regional Training Centers (RTCs) at many of the colleges.

While there is much to be proud of with passing this important milestone, it is worth noting that this still only ranks North Carolina 25th overall among all states, and third in the Southeast region, behind both Georgia and Virginia. The trends are headed in the right direction as 2024 winds down and eyes look to Paris and ultimately  on to 2025 for even more sustained growth across all areas of the state.
