Who Will Be Crowned as NC's Best?

The 53rd Annual State Freestyle and Greco-Roman Championships are set for this weekend May  4-5 at Mooresville HS in Mooresville, NC.  The right to be called State Champ is the most obvious prize on the line this weekend, but there is much more at stake for North Carolina's best wrestlers.

In addition to state titles, the State Championships are a major Top 50 series event for all ages of North Carolina Wrestlers. Also, any wrestler who won a state title in Folkstyle (either USA Elementary/Jr. High States or NCHSAA State Tournament) and who also wins a Freestyle and Greco-Roman Title will earn the coveted Triple Crown Award.

Another important consideration for wrestlers in the 16U/Jr. men's and women's divisions will have their chance to earn a spot on the NC National Team Fargo Roster. Also, the top six finishers in each style will earn the right to train at Regional Training Centers (RTCs) here in North Carolina.

Early weigh-ins will take place Friday evening for wrestlers of all ages. North Carolina will also host a  USWOA Officials/Coaches Education Program  beginning at 7pm. This training course is FREE and open to any registered USWOA official OR coach interested in attending.

Freestyle action for all ages will take place on Saturday, with Greco-Roman taking place Sunday (Seniors/Masters will compete BOTH styles on Saturday). For full event information , registration, and details :
