North Carolina was well represented at this years US Open, where the stars were on full display and the best wrestlers in America put on a show that will be long remembered.
Collegiate wrestlers from many North Carolina schools were part of the action, with several earning top honors!
One of the most memorable performances came from former NC State star Michael Macchiavello, who rolled to a 12-2 tech fall over Kollin Moore to secure a US Open Senior Men's title and a spot in Final X at 92kg.
Another great showing was turned in by current Team NC Board Members and former UNC-P superstar Rashaad Saunders, who captured a Masters title at 70KG.
Many other NC wrestlers were on the podium, including names such as Caleb Smith (7th), Carson Floyd (8th), and Chloe Ogden (5th).
Jax Forrest and Joe Sealey each continued their high profile success, with Jax finishing 2nd in the U17 division, and Joe finishing 3rd in the U20 division.
Several other NC Wrestlers represented the Tar Heel state well, including Mike Lowry, Troy Shannon, Damon Landreth, Jack Hardy, and Boedi Kirkland.
