Richard Treanor came into Fargo this year looking to improve his 8th place showing last summer, and he did not disappoint. The rising Hough HS sophomore became only the twelfh North Carolina wrestler to advance to the national finals, where he fell to Kenndyl Mobley of Washington 5-2.
Treanor was dominate in his run to the finals, and improved on his 8th place finish from last year making him one of the few wrestlers in North Carolina history to earn back-to-back All-American honors.
Treanor marks Team NC's third All-American for 2018. Junior greco will continue today and tomorrow, with three Carolina wrestlers still alive in the championship brackets.
