NC's Best Young Talent Was On Full Display Saturday

Over one hundred teams/clubs brought over eight hundred wrestlers together Saturday for the premier event of the season. The top young wrestlers in North Carolina competed for both team and individual titles Saturday in the NCUSA State Championships.

In the Elementary division, the Ashe County Mat Monsters claimed the team title, with OBX Elite finishing as runners up. Several OBX wrestlers were also among the top 10 finishers recognized from the 2016 Top 50 Challenge Series.

On the Jr High side, Marvin Ridge middle school claimed the top team award, with the Piedmont Panthers wrestling club coming in a close second.  West Lincoln, Ashe County, and Dogtown/Avery Co. rounded out the top five teams.
