State Championships Draw Top Talent

North Carolina's Best Youth Wrestlers Compete in Winston-Salem

Over 800 wrestlers gathered Saturday for the 34th edition of the NCUSA Jr. High State Championships and the 16th Elementary State Championships.

In the elementary division, the Dogtown Wrestling Club from Avery Co. took home top honors, followed closely by the Ashe County Mat Monsters.

In the Jr High Division Hominy Valley (Enka) earned their first ever state title, with Haywood County and McDowell County close behind.

2014-15 NC Top 50 wrestlers were also recognized at Saturday's event, which was the kick-off event for the 2016 Top 50 Series.

Thanks to all the coaches and club organizers who brought their wrestlers from all across North Carolina to compete in this year's championships!
