Over fifteen hundred of the nation's best female wrestlers converged on Spokane, Washington this past weekend for the 2025 USMC Women's National Freestyle Championships. Fourteen girls from North Carolina made the long trip to represent Team NC and their respective clubs & communities in competition.
Mia Pardo of Fayettville earned All-American honors in both the U15 and U17 competition, finishing 5th in her U17 bracket and 7th in the U15 tournament.
Jayceemae Erwin of Bakersville, NC was Team NC's only other medalist and All-American , earning 4th place in her 14U division.
The complete list of NC athletes participating included: Mia Pardo, Brianna Palmer, Zoeth Pardo, Katie Stowe, Sydney Mark, Brooklyn Hermel, Eden Hernandez, Iyanna Crawford, Tonya Flournory, Kennedie Snow, Shelby Kleinknecht, Faith Bane, Priscilla DeWitt, and Jayceemae Erwin.
This was Team NC's largest ever delegation to USA Women's Nationals, and reflects the continued explosive growth of the sport across North Carolina. This season nearly two thousand girls competed in high school wrestling across the state, with participation in USA Wrestling up over twenty percent in one year.
