World Champion and Olympic Bronze medalist Clarissa Chun has been announced as the featured clinician for the upcoming Southeast Region Women's Developmental Training Camp.
Chun's current role is the head coach of Iowa University women's wrestling team, which earned 2025 women's national titles in both dual and individual competition. The team boasted three champions including Olympic Gold Medalist and women's wrestler of the year Kennedy Blades, as well as 15 All-Americans.
Prior to helping launch the women's program at Iowa, Chun worked at USA Wrestling, where she was an assistant coach on the women’s national team from 2017-21. Working on staff with former Hawkeye national champion and women’s national team head coach Terry Steiner, Chun helped lead the United States to 17 World medals, including seven gold, four silver and six bronzes, as well as an Olympic gold, Olympic silver and two Olympic bronzes.
The camp will take place May 30-June 1 at Mitchell Middle School in Ledger, North Carolina. This developmental camp is designed for high school girls to provide opportunities in freestyle training. This is a commuter camp. Housing is available at The Switzerland Inn. Please contact the event director for more information and cost.
The camp is open to all high school girls and U15 athletes but spots are limited.
