Over 800 wrestlers of all ages descended on Bermuda Run Friday and Saturday to compete in the NCHSAA Women's Invitational Championships, and the USA Jr. High/Elementary/Girls State Championships.

The spotlight was on high school girls Friday night with entries in the 2022 event that more than doubled last year's event. Champions were crowned on Saturday at the Greensboro Coliseum Field House. The Junior High division saw Robbinsville edge out Piedmont, East Wilkes Middle School, and Mt. Airy, with only one point between each team.

In the Elementary/Girls Division the Wolfpack Wrestling Club put on a dominant performance, outpacing runner ups Mooresville and Haywood Elite WC by over 100points.

The event was the first event of the NC Top 50 Series, and qualifies all participants for Folkstyle Nationals later this spring.
