Jax Forrest dropped a nailbiter 9-6 finals match to Vincent Kilkeary (PA) to finish fourth in the 113 16U/Cadet Freestyle National Championships. Forrest reeled off four straight tech falls to start the tournament, outscoring opponents 68-23  before falling to  eventual National Champ Leo Deluca of New Jersey.

He rebounded with another strong 14-4 tech fall of Draegen Orine of Missouri before falling to Kilkeary in the consolation finals match.

The four place finish was the highest of any North Carolina Cadet for the 2021 16U Tournament, and he joins Hailie Misplay as the 2nd North Carolina All-American for the 2021 event.
