North Carolina Cadets capped a great day of wrestling in Freestyle with four wrestlers still alive for day two.
Will Clark from Cary paced the NC cadet with an impressive 5 tech falls on day one. Wilson Smith of Rocky Mount also had a great first day, finishing with four strong wins including an impressive comeback in his opening match from 9 down vs. Illinois.
Those Cadets who made it to day two of Cadet Freestyle included:
Cadet-94 – Chase Kominek
Cadet-132 – Will Clark
Cadet 120 – Wilson Smith
Cadet-220 – CJ Toogood’s
Clark finished 8th at 132, which was one of the largest weight classes in the tournament. His impressive run earned him All-American honors, making him the 18th Cadet Freestyle All-American in North Carolina history.
Will is a member of Arrichion Wrestling Club and was 55-1 wrestling for Cary High School at 126 this past season.
