National Team Qualification:

This event is THE QUALIFYING EVENT for NC National 14U/Schoolboy, 16U/Cadet & Junior Dual Teams for both men & women! The top four wrestlers in each weight/style will earn a slot on Team NC and have a chance to represent our state in National Duals competition in Oaks, PA (14U/Schoolboys) , Westfield, IN (14U/16U Women),  Herriman, UT(16U/Cadets) or Tulsa, Oklahoma (Junior Men & Women) Preference for slots will be given in order of finish.

Winners  (Champions ONLY) in the 16U/Junior divisions also qualify for Cadet/Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND.

Qualification is specific to division, style, and weight class. Qualifying in Greco does not qualify you in Freestyle. Qualifying as a Cadet does not qualify you as a Junior. Qualifying at 160 does not qualify you at 170, etc.

Wrestlers Qualifying for spots on NC National Dual Teams should make their intentions to participate known ASAP, preferably paying your $100 deposit ON SITE at the event if possible. If you have not notified Team NC by 5pm Monday, April 15th and paid your deposit, your slot may be offered to other wrestlers.

Petitioning: You MAY petition for membership on Team NC any time before the set deadline (12:00 NOON- May 6, 2024). The Petition fee is $100 if you did not wrestle in the qualifying event (either Tar Heel or State Championships). Wrestlers who participate in one of these two events and do not earn a slot on the National Team can petition WITH NO FEE. Petition slots are subject to availability.

Wrestle-Offs: Dual team slots will be determined by wrestle-offs as needed. Open team slots may be filled by the Coaching Staff.  NCUSA reserves the right to take more than one participant in each weight class/style

USA Regional & National Events:

Kids/Cadets/Junior Regional- Daluth, GA:  May 17-19, 2024 #1-6 from Tar Heel State Classic and State Championships are invited. Divisions are 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U/Cadet, and Junior

14U National Duals- Oaks, PA-- Highest NC Finisher (schoolboy age), Tar Heel State Classic are eligible. A $100 deposit is due at the Tar Heel State Classic. Slots not claimed within 48 hours will be opened to other placing wrestlers.

14/16U  Women's  National Duals-Westfield, IN-Highest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. $100 Deposit Due at the Tar Heel State Classic. Slots not claimed within 48 hours will be opened to other placing wrestlers.

16U/Cadet National Duals- Herriman, UT- Highest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. $100 Deposit Due at the Tar Heel State Classic. Slots not claimed within 48 hours will be opened to other placing wrestlers.

Junior National Duals- Tulsa, OKHighest NC Finisher at Tar Heel State Classic will earn slot. $100 Deposit Due at the Tar Heel State Classic. Slots not claimed within 48 hours will be opened to other placing wrestlers.

Cadet/Junior Nationals- Fargo, ND-   #1 & 2 from State Championships and #1 from the Tar Heel State Classic are invited. Wrestlers may also qualify at UWW Cadet Nationals, UWW Jr. Nationals, or any USA Wrestling Regional Event. All qualifiers should make their intentions to go to Fargo known to NCUSA National Team Staff as soon as possible.

BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR!

A) If a wrestler competes and WINS BOTH the Tar Heel and NCUSA FS/GR State Championships, wrestler will earn FREE entry to SE Regionals.

B) If they place top 3 in their weight class at SE Regionals and have met criteria from A, they will earn a $150 voucher to go toward another national team travels. Winners of SE Regionals will earn $200 vouchers!

Back Again for 2023- Any wrestler participating in the Tar Heel State Classic will receive a 2 pound allowance for the State FS/GR Championships . WRESTLERS MUST MAKE SCRATCH WEIGHT FOR THE TAR HEEL STATE CLASSIC ITSELF. THEY WILL THEN BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE 2 LB ALLOWANCE AT THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS MAY 6-7.
